Job summary

Yost Foods, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead facility and equipment maintenance in a food manufacturing environment.

You will ensure safe, efficient production while supporting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of maintenance experience in food manufacturing, strong leadership, and experience with VFDs and control systems.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or food facility environment preferred.
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting VFDs and related control systems preferred.
  • Current forklift license preferred; ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification as required.
  • Ability to perform accurate calculations related to equipment, chemicals, and maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of SAP, ERP systems, and document control systems; willingness to learn new technology.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose mechanical issues and determine repairs.
  • Configure, program, and troubleshoot VFDs and related control systems to support operation and performance.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime and support production needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, facility systems, and related assets.
  • Complete and document work orders, maintenance activities, calibration tasks, and repair records.
  • Maintain equipment manuals, spare parts, and maintenance shop organization.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using appropriate tools and safe practices.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for equipment, building, and facility service needs.
  • Support continuous improvement by completing additional training as needed.

Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead facility and equipment maintenance in a food manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a mechanically skilled leader who can keep production running safely and efficiently while supporting preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Manager works closely with production, warehouse, quality assurance, and office teams to maintain and repair the facility, grounds, and equipment in a safe, hygienic, and reliable manner. This position plays a key role in supporting the manufacturing of safe, high-quality food products.

  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repairs.
  • Configure, program, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and related control systems to support proper equipment operation and performance.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to help reduce downtime and support production needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, facility systems, and related assets.
  • Complete and document work orders, maintenance activities, calibration tasks, and repair records in a timely manner.
  • Maintain equipment schematics, manuals, purchase dates, spare parts, and maintenance shop organization.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using appropriate tools and safe work practices.
  • Identify and coordinate with outside contractors for equipment, building, and facility service needs.
  • Support continuous improvement by completing additional training as needed or assigned.
Knowledge & Expertise:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or food facility environment preferred.
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting VFDs and related control systems preferred.
  • Current forklift license preferred; ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification as required.
  • Ability to perform accurate calculations, including percentages, addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication as they relate to equipment, chemicals, and maintenance tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new technology, SAP, ERP systems, and document control systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, guide, and support team members.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and strong time-management skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Practical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and support scheduled production needs in a changing manufacturing environment.
