The Marzetti Company in Wareham, Massachusetts is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee and coordinate all electrical and mechanical services. This role leads a team of 10 technicians, ensuring cost-effective and safe operations while developing plans for preventive maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, especially food industry knowledge, along with strong people management and problem-solving skills. The position promotes a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and performance of all electrical and mechanical services across the facility. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations by maintaining production equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds in compliance with all regulatory and company standards. The Maintenance Manager leads and develops a team of 10 technicians and 1 clerk and drives a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety throughout the maintenance function.
Essential Functions:
Supervisory Responsibility: Directly oversees a team of 10 maintenance technicians and 1 maintenance clerk in a 24-hour manufacturing operation. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, performance appraisal, incident investigation; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and grievances; resolving problems; and interpreting company policies.

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp, and bend. Must be able to move 40–50 pounds at a distance of 25 feet or more and stand for an 8‑10 hour shift with regular breaks while performing repetitive tasks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee may be exposed to non‑ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, and moving equipment. Noise levels are loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip‑resistant shoes, and gloves required per company GMP and safety standards.
