Job summary

Tigard-Tualatin SD 23J district in Tigard, Oregon seeks a Maintenance Support (Locksmith) to ensure safe operation and timely repairs of district facilities. You will maintain key tracking, perform locksmith tasks, respond to security issues, and support a wide range of trades in a busy school environment.

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, you will handle preventative maintenance, work orders, and safety compliance while using PPE and power tools.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Mechanical aptitude for maintenance tasks.
• Able to work in confined/restricted spaces.
• Follow written or oral instructions with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Read SDS sheets and follow chemical safety procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrate learning agility for new programs and tools.
• Ability to interpret varied instruction formats.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain key tracking systems for districtwide distribution.
• Perform locksmith tasks: repining, key cutting, impressioning, decoding, master key setup.
• Carry out basic preventive maintenance on district equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose district equipment under supervision.
• Respond to building security issues related to doors and locks.
• Practice energy conservation and PPE use for safety.
• Operate tools safely and manage work area to keep it clean.
• Work across multiple trades as needed in a team environment.
• Complete work orders with minimal supervision.
