Job summary

Navy Exchange Service Command in Hawaii seeks a working leader for maintenance who will supervise three+ Maintenance Workers, NA-5/NA-7, and perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and alterations on Exchange facilities and equipment.

Candidates must have technical knowledge, a valid driver's license, and the ability to qualify for government operator licenses (forklift, aerial lift, scissor lift) within 90 days of hire. This is a full-time federal employee position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate technical knowledge and experience leading a small maintenance crew.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must qualify for and obtain government-issued operator licenses for forklift, aerial lift, and scissor lift within 90 days of hire.
• Three years of general maintenance work with various trades; substitution rules apply.
• Standing, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and executes a preventive maintenance program on plumbing, electrical, refrigeration/AC, water coolers and related equipment.
• Repairs doors, windows, locks, furniture, screens, cabinets and walls.
• Prepares surfaces for painting and paints interior/exterior areas.
• Repairs wiring, installs circuit breakers and new wiring with hand tools.
• Supervises three or more maintenance workers; communicates with supervisor on delays or problems.
• Ensures tools, parts and equipment are available and maintained.
• Adheres to safety and fire rules and EE0 policies; maintains equipment cleanliness.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
