Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America in High Point, NC is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to provide daily leadership and guidance to maintenance staff, directing work activities and resources to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently.

You will perform general maintenance, preventive maintenance, overhauls, fabrication, welding and electrical troubleshooting, train and mentor team members, ensure GMP compliance, and document repairs and parts usage while driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from trade school or technical school preferred in areas such as electrical, programmable controls (PLC/HMI), mechanical, welding/fabrication, refrigeration, plumbing, etc.
• 4 years of maintenance, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC, and HVAC or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with leadership experience.
• Experience on equipment including lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipment.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assign daily jobs and work orders, detailing requirements for the day and delegating tasks.
• Train and develop maintenance staff.
• Assist supervisor to ensure work orders are completed on time with high quality.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment and related systems.
• Support MRO purchasing and inventory management including parts and supplies.
• Anticipate parts requirements and procure ahead of time.
• Assist with installation of new equipment.
• Help operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Maintain communication with other departments about problems affecting production.
• Document all repairs and required information accurately.
• Stay updated on new products, equipment, and techniques.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes using continuous improvement mindset.
• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with health and safety regulations.
