Job summary

Apartment Management Consultants is seeking a Maintenance Assistant Manager to support the maintenance manager with overseeing operations while performing maintenance technician duties. Responsibilities include scheduling tasks, training staff, ensuring safety policies, and handling on-call service requests across the property.

The role requires handyman experience, HVAC/plumbing/electrical knowledge, and strong communication. Competitive compensation and benefits are provided by AMC.

Qualifications

• Property maintenance/handyman experience required.
• HVAC, plumbing, and electrical knowledge helpful.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail.
• Ability to operate various hand tools including power tools.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and schedule daily maintenance tasks including preparing vacant units for occupancy and preventative maintenance.
• Assist in the training of service, housekeeping/custodial, or grounds personnel.
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Identify process improvements to maintenance methods.
• Maintain MSDS sheets and replacement logs.
• Report personnel performance concerns to leadership.
• Assist in inventory ordering and coordination with vendors.
• Ensure OSHA standards and company safety policies are followed at all times.
• Handle lock-outs due to evictions and provide 24-hour response to service requests.
• Be available to work on an on-call basis.
• Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents.
• Remove snow and ice as necessary.
• Ensure necessary tools are on hand.
