Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to oversee junior staff, assign tasks, and ensure maintenance work meets deadlines and quality standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with production machinery, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, and the ability to read schematics and drawings. The position supports the 1st shift, 7am-3pm, at the St. Charles facility with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing production machinery.
• Ability to install, troubleshoot, repair, and align complex equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Strong safety awareness including HazMat and Lock Out Tag Out practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of work conducted by junior staff and/or review/audit work for accuracy.
• Assign maintenance tasks to staff, monitor progress, and ensure work completes on time and to quality standards.
• Track maintenance costs, manage parts inventory and work orders.
• Install, modify, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and load electrical lines, circuits, systems and fixtures.
• Perform electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repairs for equipment errors or failures.
• Maintain organization's production equipment.
• Repair or reproduce parts using welders or machine tools as needed.
• Build repairs and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Update and maintain shift schedules in the attendance system and enter transactions.
• Coach, guide, and train junior mechanics and maintenance technicians.
