Maintenance Lead

Location: Newark, OH, US, 43055-5893

This position will lead Maintenance Operations for the F6 Line in the Newark Plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the maintenance process. They must demonstrate the ability to motivate people and be viewed as a clear and credible communicator. A passion for safety and the ability to foster effective working relationships built on trust and respect with plant employees and leaders are essential.

Reports to: Wool Plant Maintenance Leader

Span of Control: The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee approximately 5 electrical and 15 mechanical union-represented employees.

Job Responsibilities
  • Live the Safety standard, adhere to safety responsibilities.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, environmentally compliant work environment and build a safety-first culture.
Metrics
  • Achieve 95% completion rate in <30 days for safety incident reports.
  • Achieve 80% completion on safety work orders in <30 days.
  • Monitor safety metrics such as RIR, first aids, near misses, SAFE, and Critical 6.
  • Lead Safety Standard Work and Hazard Identification.
  • Ensure a safe work environment through coaching, engagement, and adherence to safety policies.
Directing Maintenance Operations
  • Provide effective leadership and vision to plant personnel.
  • Create a work environment fostering employee engagement and pride.
  • Reduce operating costs by enhancing efficiencies, streamlining processes, and leveraging resources.
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis on chronic issues.
  • Establish a world-class housekeeping and safety environment.
  • Implement effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Develop solutions to improve reliability.
  • Respond urgently to unplanned downtime, focusing on safety and detail.
  • Execute the RWP process.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 3 years of industrial manufacturing/maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Decision-making based on facts and data, with basic math and technical skills.
  • Ability to lead unionized hourly employees.
  • Effective change management and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams.
  • Organized, adaptable, results-oriented with self-direction.
  • Collaborative work with production teams to improve machine performance and efficiency.
