Job summary

UPS is seeking BaSE Mechanics to perform maintenance on a busy package handling facility. The role requires strong electrical background and the ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in a 24x7 operation. Candidates must pass an electrical assessment and meet U.S.

work eligibility. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components, plus performing preventive maintenance on conveyors and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment (batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photoelectric devices, transducers, VFDs and encoders).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, pulleys, belts, bearings, conveyors, and related components.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace pneumatic equipment (diverters, lubricators, hoses, coils).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace hydraulic equipment (hoses, fittings, cylinders, pumps).
• Weld equipment as needed for infrastructure and equipment supports.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors and power industrial equipment.
