Job Overview

Hubbell Power Systems, located at 1615 Moores St., Leeds, AL 35094, seeks an Industrial Maintenance Technician with over 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting. Candidates should hold an Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical qualification, possess strong mathematical skills and mechanical reasoning, and be capable of troubleshooting and repairing AC & DC motors, PLCs, and power distribution systems. Effective communication in English and basic computer skills are essential for managing work orders and interacting with team members. Experience with measuring tools is preferred. The role requires flexibility to work overtime and odd hours during emergencies, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

A Day In The Life
  • Troubleshoot and repair AC & DC Motors and Control Circuits
  • Read and interpret electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair PLC and/or DCS hardware, software, and controls
  • Maintain 480/240 V 3‑phase MCC and power distribution systems
  • Replace electrical control devices (limit switches, proximity and photo switches, pneumatic and hydraulic valves, etc.)
  • Move and set up equipment as needed
  • Wire equipment and electrical drops within a high‑voltage area
  • Install and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic industrial equipment
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Must have 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Education: Associate’s Degree, trade or technical school diploma and/or journeyman’s card in a related trade.
  • Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and use decimals and fractions.
  • Mechanical aptitude: troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment operation issues.
  • Communication skills: written and verbal English proficiency, ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
  • Computer skills: basic use of computers to view work orders and interact with related programs.
  • Previous experience with measuring devices (tape measures, micrometers, calipers, etc.) preferred.
  • Prepared to work overtime and odd hours when emergencies threaten production or safety.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, alignment equipment, measuring devices, and testing equipment.
  • Capable of using catalogs and vendor contacts to research and requisition parts and materials.
  • Regular, full‑time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is essential.
