Job summary

America’s Auto Auction in Obetz, OH is seeking a Maintenance/Janitorial Technician to maintain the premises, perform minor repairs, and ensure cleanliness across facilities. The role includes performing preventive maintenance and documenting activities as required.

Ideal candidates will have basic electrical/plumbing knowledge, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must read/write/speak English fluently.
• Willingness to go above and beyond and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times.
• Communicate with and escort/advise vendors as necessary.
• Replace burnt-out light bulbs and maintain ceiling tiles.
• Keep the lot clean, tidy, and orderly; manage debris.
• Complete minor building repairs as needed.
• Operates trash collection and moves furniture or fixtures as required.
• Assist in painting interior/exterior surfaces as needed.
• Use gas and electric power tools safely for tasks.
• Inventory and stock building supplies and tools for use.
• Report issues to Management promptly.

Maintenance/Janitorial Technician

Position Summary for Maintenance/Janitorial Technician

The Maintenance/Janitorial Technician is responsible for maintaining the premise, minor repairs, cleanliness, performing preventive maintenance throughout the facilities, and taking and conveying accurate documentation as required.

Responsibilities of Maintenance/Janitorial Technician

• Provide efficient and courteous service to all customers at all times.
• Must communicate and escort/advise vendors as necessary.
• Replacement of burnt-out light bulbs and stained ceiling tiles.
• Ensure landscape is appealing and tidy.
• Ensure the lot and all facilities are orderly, clean and free of debris.
• Complete minor building repairs.
• Trash can pick up throughout entire lot.
• Ensure security fence is operational.
• Assist in the movement and building of furniture, shelving, wall décor, signage, etc.
• Painting interior and exterior, walls, fences, lane lines, etc. as necessary.
• Work with gas and electric power tools.
• Ensure all building supplies are properly inventoried and adequately stocked.
• Timely communication of issues that may be deemed as detrimental to the success of operations to Management.
• Performs general handyman duties.

Work hours for Maintenance/Janitorial Technician

• Start/End times may vary
• Guaranteed: 40 hours a week
• 7am-4pm or 8am/5pm
• Wednesdays: 7am Start
• Fridays off at 1:00pm

Requirements

Requirements for Maintenance/Janitorial Technician

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must demonstrate the willingness to go above and beyond and take initiative.
• Must have a good attitude.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Must take pride in work.
• Must possess a basic understanding of handyman type work.
• Must possess basic technical problem-solving skills.
• Must be highly organized, self-motivated and self-disciplined.

• Must adhere to attendance policy.
• Should have a reliable mode of transportation to and from work every day.
• Must be on time at work every day.
• Must be technologically capable.

Experience for Maintenance/Janitorial Technician

• Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge preferred.
• Previous maintenance/janitorial experience preferred.
