Job summary

Allegion invites applications for a Summer Intern - Maintenance position in Princeton, IL. The role involves supporting the Maintenance Team to layout and relabel electrical cabinets, and to map panels with AutoCAD while verifying labeling accuracy.

You will also build an Excel workbook with panel hyperlinks showing power details and usage, gaining hands-on experience in electrical systems and plant layout through real project work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree or certificate in the Maintenance or Manufacturing field such as Electrical, Mechanical, Equipment Maintenance, or Engineering
• Experience or familiarity with AutoCad and electrical knowledge
• Must be self-motivated
• General Computer Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
• Follow safety regulations; keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly using 5S standards
• Flexibility to work overtime as required
• Perform tasks in a timely and accurate manner
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.
• General knowledge of machinery
• Basic math, computer, and measuring skills
• May perform other duties as assigned and extend into other areas as needed

Responsibilities

• Layout and relabel main Electrical cabinets throughout the facility.
• Use AutoCAD to create a plant layout layer identifying electrical panels and I-lines.
• Verify and label all electrical panels.
• Create an Excel file with hyperlinks to each panel detailing power, amp rating, and equipment served.
