Job summary

Allegion in Princeton, IL is seeking a Summer Intern - Maintenance to support the Maintenance Team by laying out and relabeling electrical cabinets across the facility. You will use AutoCAD to mark panel locations and I-lines, and build an Excel catalog with panel links for power and usage details.

The role requires pursuing a Maintenance/Manufacturing degree or certificate, familiarity with AutoCAD and electrical concepts, and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or enrolled in a Maintenance/Manufacturing degree or certificate program (Electrical, Mechanical, Equipment Maintenance, or Engineering).
• Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD and electrical knowledge.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• General computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).
• Follow safety regulations; keep work areas and equipment clean using 5S standards.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
• Perform tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.
• General knowledge of machinery.
• Basic math, computer, and measuring skills.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Layout and relabel main electrical cabinets throughout the facility.
• Use AutoCAD to create a layer identifying the location of all electrical panels and I-lines in the Facility.
• Create an Excel file with hyperlinks to each panel identifying power and point of use for each panel.
