Job summary

Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a maintenance assistant to support Pacific Beach Lodging Program. The role involves assisting in repairs across carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical trades at federal facilities.

Responsibilities include assisting with door, floor, wall repairs and routine maintenance, while adhering to safety standards and using basic shop tools. This position may require outdoor work and exposure to weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Incumbent must have knowledge in general carpentry and painting, and a general working knowledge of the basic shop machines and their safe operating procedures.
• Must have some practical knowledge of the general trades involve in maintenance work.
• Must be familiar with basic tools and materials required in making routine repairs to buildings and ground structures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing repair and/or alterations to doors, floors, walls, and fixtures.
• Assist in simple plumbing repairs and electrical tasks as needed.
• Perform light maintenance on HVAC units and other facility equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and work under supervision as required.
