Job summary

Fairfield by Marriott Carmel is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Helper to assist our engineering team and keep guest areas in top condition. Weekend availability is required to support hotel operations and guest needs.

You will learn hands-on repairs, support preventive maintenance, and respond to maintenance requests with professionalism. Work with the Maintenance Supervisor and General Manager to ensure the property looks and functions at its best.

Qualifications

• Prior maintenance or facilities experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to use basic tools and follow safety protocols.
• Willingness to work weekends and in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs in guest rooms and public areas (light plumbing, painting, electrical).
• Support preventive maintenance to keep equipment and systems running smoothly.
• Respond to guest and team maintenance requests quickly and professionally.
• Keep back-of-house areas clean and safe, including maintenance shop and boiler room.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor and General Manager to maintain property quality.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with Repairs: Help with basic repairs in guest rooms and public areas—light plumbing, painting, electrical, and more.
• Support Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled tasks to keep equipment, systems, and facilities running smoothly.
• Respond to Requests: Address guest and team member maintenance issues quickly, professionally, and with a smile.
• Keep It Clean: Maintain the cleanliness and safety of back-of-house areas like the maintenance shop, boiler room, and storage spaces.
• Team Up: Work closely with our Maintenance Supervisor and General Manager to ensure the property is always looking and functioning its best.
