Job summary

Element by Marriott Indianapolis Carmel is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker to join our Engineering Team and help keep a safe, comfortable hotel environment for guests and team members. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to requests, assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building repairs, while maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas on site in Carmel, IN.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel maintenance or facilities upkeep.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Assist HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Maintain tools, supplies, and work areas in a clean, organized manner.

This position plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the Engineering Department while helping maintain a safe, comfortable, clean, and exceptional guest environment.

What You Will Do:

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and guest needs.
• Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building repairs.
• Inspect and maintain guest rooms and suites, public areas, fitness areas, indoor pool areas, guest laundry, back-of-house areas, and exterior spaces.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, lighting, appliances, kitchenettes, and hotel equipment.
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders accurately and efficiently.
• Assist the Engineering team with preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled projects.
• Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Communicate maintenance concerns, safety issues, and equipment problems to the Engineering leadership team.
• Assist with property improvement projects, repairs, inspections, and renovations as needed.
• Support outside vendors and contractors while working on hotel property.
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.
• Help ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, safety requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning property that exceeds guest expectations.
