Job summary

The Tallison Hotel in Carmel, IN is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker to join its Engineering Team. This role supports daily operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and exceptional guest environment through hands-on repairs and preventive maintenance.

You will work on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building repairs across guest rooms, public areas, and event spaces; respond to maintenance requests and assist with safety and standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Ability to perform HVAC, plumbing and electrical repairs as needed.
• Commitment to safety, guest comfort, and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building repairs.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and event spaces for upkeep.
• Repair doors, locks, lighting, fixtures, and equipment as required.
• Complete work orders accurately and efficiently.
• Support maintenance inspections and scheduled projects.
• Maintain clean, organized tools and work areas.
• Communicate concerns to Engineering leadership and team.
• Assist with property improvements and vendor coordination.

What You Will Do:

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and guest needs.
• Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building repairs.
• Inspect and maintain guest rooms, suites, public areas, meeting/event spaces, fitness areas, indoor pool areas, restaurant/bar areas, back‑of‑house areas, and exterior spaces.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, lighting, appliances, and hotel equipment.
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders accurately and efficiently.
• Assist the Engineering team with preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled projects.
• Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Communicate maintenance concerns, safety issues, and equipment problems to the Engineering leadership team.
• Assist with property improvement projects, repairs, inspections, and renovations as needed.
• Support outside vendors and contractors while working on hotel property.
• Assist with maintaining hotel event and meeting spaces in excellent working condition.
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.
• Help ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, safety requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well‑functioning property that exceeds guest expectations.
