Job summary

Fairland Center is seeking an experienced Maintenance Helper to join our team. You will perform maintenance tasks to keep the nursing center and grounds clean, safe, and orderly, and help with daily upkeep to maintain a welcoming environment for residents.

You will handle minor repairs, HVAC filter changes, supplies stocking, and may assume supervisor responsibilities in their absence. High school diploma and basic wiring/plumbing/carpentry knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
• Ability to perform minor repairs and safety tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs to fixtures and safety systems.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Assist with maintenance supervision in the supervisor's absence.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
