Genesis HealthCare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep a nursing center and surrounding grounds clean, safe, and well-presented. You will perform minor repairs on rails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs and electrical equipment, while also changing HVAC filters and stocking supplies.

The role may require stepping in for the Maintenance supervisor when needed, with attention to safety, reliability, and teamwork in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic wiring knowledge.
• Basic plumbing knowledge.
• Basic carpentry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition with a pleasing appearance.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, and related equipment.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift, and stock supplies.
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
