Job summary

Genesis is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the nursing center and grounds clean, safe, and well-presented. You will perform minor repairs, oversee safety systems, and help with supplies while supporting a team-focused care environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma and basic wiring, plumbing and carpentry knowledge. This on-site role offers varied duties and opportunities in a supportive long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain nursing center and grounds in clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, and safety systems.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment and assist in supply handling.
• Occasionally assume Maintenance supervisor duties in absence of supervisor.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
