Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Maintenance Group Leader in Normal, IL to manage day-to-day maintenance operations, supervise preventive maintenance, and drive repairs to minimize downtime. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires leadership in a fast-paced facility.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of leadership in manufacturing, a engineering degree or equivalent experience, and strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills. Travel for training may be required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.
• Previous Maintenance Leadership experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 3-5 years of equivalent professional experience in a plant maintenance leadership position.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PP).
• Able to travel off-site for training and equipment buy-offs when needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong communication and people management skills.
• Provide hands-on assistance and expertise to team members to complete maintenance related functions.
• Assign and track all Preventative Maintenance Activities.
• Oversee training and safety of the entire Shop team.
• Support Strategic Planning for line maintenance efficiency.
• Support new equipment introduction.
• Create and manage team member development plans.
• Spare parts setup and management.
• Create and grow a workforce representative of diversity initiatives.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, welding, and robotic systems.
• Manage in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
• Create a preventative maintenance system to minimize production line disturbances.
• Establish strong team relations and coach/mentor for teamwork.
• Travel off-site for training/equipment buy-offs when needed.
• Strong PC skills and ability to work weekends/extended days occasionally.
