Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery, including lubrication, inspections, adjustments, and replacements.

• Conduct electrical maintenance: troubleshoot circuits, replace fuses/switches/motors, basic repairs.
• Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, pumps, valves, conveyors.
• Assist installation, setup, calibration, and safety-compliant operation of new equipment.
• Perform facility maintenance such as plumbing, carpentry, and general building upkeep.
• Record maintenance activities and readings in logbooks and systems.
• Coordinate with teams to schedule maintenance and prioritize tasks.

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician Generalist at Tyson RVI-Harmony rendering plant is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the reliable operation of equipment and facilities. This position requires a broad range of technical skills, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Maintenance Technician Generalist will play a key role in maintaining production efficiency, safety, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery, including lubrication, inspections, adjustments, and replacements, to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues, diagnosing problems and implementing repairs or adjustments as needed to minimize downtime.
• Conduct electrical maintenance tasks, such as troubleshooting electrical circuits, replacing fuses, switches, and motors, and performing basic electrical repairs.
• Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and other mechanical components, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and conveyors.
• Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment and machinery, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct facility maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, carpentry work, and general building maintenance, to ensure a safe and functional work environment.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment readings, and repairs performed, recording data in logbooks and computerized systems.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to schedule maintenance activities, prioritize tasks, and address urgent maintenance needs.
• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in maintenance techniques and technologies.

Requirements

At least one year of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field.

Rehire Criteria

• Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 90 calendar days.
• Also, if you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
