Job Description: The Maintenance Technician Generalist at Tyson RVI-Harmony rendering plant is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the reliable operation of equipment and facilities. This position requires a broad range of technical skills, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Maintenance Technician Generalist will play a key role in maintaining production efficiency, safety, and quality standards.
Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of equipment and machinery. Experience with preventive maintenance practices, including knowledge of lubrication techniques, inspections, and equipment reliability principles. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and supervisors. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed to support production schedules and operational needs. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures applicable to maintenance activities and industrial environments. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and perform tasks at heights and in confined spaces. Hazards and Physical Requirements: The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
