Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company in Marana, AZ is seeking a Foreman to direct and coordinate hourly production and maintenance staff, ensuring top quality workmanship, efficiency, and a safe work environment in compliance with MSHA standards.

You will schedule and prioritize work, manage resources and equipment, and partner with SHE to promote safety. The role requires leadership, teamwork, and the ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production forecasts while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training or an equivalent combination of education and experience in mining practices.
• Experience in the mining/construction industry is preferred with 5 years of work experience in supervision production employees.
• Knowledge and understanding of an aggregate, asphalt, cement, or ready-mix plant operation.
• Knowledge of OSHA and/or MSHA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the activities of production and/or maintenance hourly employees to obtain top quality workmanship, efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, and teamwork.
• Ensure employees receive proper training and instructions to perform job duties.
• Direct and prioritize work activities of hourly production and/or maintenance employees.
• Schedule production requirements to support daily, weekly, and monthly sales forecasts to meet customer and production needs.
• Assume responsibility for the production of materials.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective operations.
• Ensure proper and efficient utilization of all resources and equipment.
• Prioritize safety throughout the operation in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
• Work with SHE and Company officials to promote a safe work environment that meets all state and federal rules and regulations.
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
