Job summary
The State of Indiana is seeking a Maintenance Foreman at Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility to lead a full-service maintenance team across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and grounds tasks. Workdays are Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours, with supervision of incarcerated individuals when needed and opportunities for advancement.
We emphasize strong safety practices, excellent customer service and a pathway to supervisory roles in a secure environment.
Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing and painting trades.
- Ability to plan, schedule and supervise job sites.
- Ability to fill in for other foreman to ensure operation of the department.
- Ability to read blueprints and remediation plans.
- OSHA/Msds/safety knowledge relevant to trades.
- Ability to estimate project proposals (equipment, hours, costs).
- Must have valid Driver’s License.
Responsibilities
- Solici t cost estimates or cost proposals.
- Estimate costs and work hours for maintenance projects.
- Oversee and participate in preventive maintenance and repairs of facilities.
- Maintain accountability of materials, tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements by self and team.
- Recruit, onboard and train employees to enable career development.
- Set expectations, measure progress and provide feedback on performance.
- Workday attendance at assigned worksite is required.
