Job summary

Weiss-Aug Co. in Elk Grove Village, IL seeks a skilled Maintenance & Facilities Mechanic to support our high-precision manufacturing operations. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain machinery, implement preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and compliance across facilities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance of high-precision manufacturing equipment and facility equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facilities to ensure safe, efficient operations across all departments.
• Repair and maintain machinery and equipment; inspect and resolve malfunctions.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures for primary and auxiliary equipment.
• Coordinate outside machine repairs with suppliers to minimize production impact.
• Keep accurate maintenance records in the in-house Plex system and ensure compliance with ISO/QS procedures.

We're currently seeking a passionate and skilled Maintenance & Facilities Mechanic to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to our customers worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for supporting our manufacturing operations. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment. Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble. Disassembles machines and repair or replaces broken parts. Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary. Cleans and lubricates parts. Orders replacement parts. Inspects completed repairs. Performs all work with adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains facilities to allow the best possible conditions for safe and efficient operations of all departments.
• Responsible for repair and maintenance of the building structures and grounds.
• Interfaces with local municipalities with regards to Fire and Security issues.
• Repairs all malfunctioning machinery and equipment
• Handles installation of new machinery and project planning.
• Develops preventive maintenance procedures for all primary, and auxiliary equipment used in all manufacturing, and all equipment related to the physical plant
• Assists in coordinating and scheduling outside machine repairs with suppliers to ensure the minimum impact to manufacturing activities
• Assists in maintaining equipment preventive and safety records in regard to all state and federal regulations and to all ISO and QS procedures.
• Evaluates & diagnoses machine problems and develops corrective action procedures to eliminate reoccurrence
• Provides guidance to all other department personnel.
• Assists in training of new hires and department transfers.
• Assists in developing the corrective means and methods for continuous improvement.
• Will need to keep accurate records on our in-house maintenance system “PLEX”

Requirements

This position is at our Elk Grove Village, IL location.

Pay Range: $30 - $33/hr
