Job summary

Weiss-Aug, a long‑standing leader in precision manufacturing, seeks a skilled Maintenance & Facilities Mechanic at our Elk Grove Village, IL facility. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment, manage building maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant operations across all departments.

The role demands hands-on experience with high-precision manufacturing equipment, a minimum of 10 years in facility maintenance, and familiarity with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance of high precision manufacturing equipment and facility equipment.
• Minimum 10 years facility and equipment maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintains facilities to allow the best possible conditions for safe and efficient operations of all departments.
• Repairs and maintains building structures and grounds.
• Interfaces with local municipalities with regards to Fire and Security issues.
• Repairs all malfunctioning machinery and equipment.
• Handles installation of new machinery and project planning.
• Develops preventive maintenance procedures for all primary and auxiliary equipment used in all manufacturing, and all equipment related to the physical plant.
• Assists in coordinating and scheduling outside machine repairs with suppliers to ensure the minimum impact to manufacturing activities.
• Assists in maintaining equipment preventive and safety records in regard to all state and federal regulations and to all ISO and QS procedures.
• Evaluates & diagnoses machine problems and develops corrective action procedures to eliminate reoccurrence.
• Provides guidance to all other department personnel.
• Assists in training of new hires and department transfers.
• Assists in developing the corrective means and methods for continuous improvement.
• Will need to keep accurate records on our in-house maintenance system “PLEX”

We're currently seeking a passionate and skilled Maintenance & Facilities Mechanic to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to our customers worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for supporting our manufacturing operations. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment. Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble. Disassembles machines and repair or replaces broken parts. Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary. Cleans and lubricates parts. Orders replacement parts. Inspects completed repairs. Performs all work with adherence to safety procedures.

Requirements

• H.S. graduate or equivalent.
• 2-year technical school or trade school.
• Hands on maintenance of high precision manufacturing equipment and facility equipment.
• Minimum 10 years facility and equipment maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of ERP Systems

This position is at our Elk Grove Village, IL location.

Pay Range: $30 - $33/hr
