Job summary

Christ Memorial Church is seeking a dependable Maintenance & Facilities Assistant to care for the church facilities, grounds, and equipment. The role includes routine building maintenance, grounds work, and support for events, with rotating Sunday coverage and on-call duties.

The position is 20-25 hours per week, generally on-site, with a hands-on, service-oriented mindset. The successful candidate will help keep the campus safe, welcoming, and well-maintained for ministry and community

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain church facilities, grounds, and equipment.
• Perform landscaping, irrigation, snow/leaf removal, and tree trimming.
• Carpentry, painting, minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs.
• Floor care and janitorial duties.
• Assist with room setups for services and events.
• Respond to maintenance requests and on-call alarms.
• Rotating Sunday maintenance coverage.

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance & Facilities Assistant team member to help care for our facilities, grounds, and equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in well-maintained spaces, and is eager to serve in a meaningful way. Your efforts will help ensure that our campus remains safe, welcoming, and ready to support ministry, events, and community connections.

Work Schedule

• 20-25 hours per week/5 days per week
• Rotating Sunday morning coverage and participation in on-call rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining CMC facilities, grounds, and equipment to ensure they remain safe, clean, functional, and compliant with applicable regulations.
• Support grounds maintenance activities, including lawn care, landscaping, irrigation maintenance, leaf removal, snow removal, and tree trimming.
• Perform routine building maintenance, including painting, light carpentry, and basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs.
• Provide floor care, including carpet cleaning and maintenance of hard-surface flooring.
• Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and operational needs.
• Assist with room setups and tear downs for church services, ministry events, and special gatherings.
• Perform janitorial duties as needed to maintain a welcoming environment.
• Participate in rotating Sunday morning maintenance coverage.
• Serve in an on-call rotation to respond to fire and burglar alarms.
