Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC in Gainesville, FL is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician to perform routine building and facility maintenance, basic cleaning, and inspections. You will use standard tools and perform small repairs as needed.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a valid Florida driver’s license. Working hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair using a pre-established check sheet.
• Inspects the grounds and parking areas to be free of leaves and debris; handles minor clean-up and/or repairs.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance including replacement or repair of fixtures using hand, power and specialty tools.
• Performs minor plumbing maintenance such as leaks, drains, and lines repairs.
• Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work including surface prep and applying paints or varnishes.

This is entry-level manual labor and semi-skilled technical work performing routine building and facility maintenance tasks as well as performing general cleaning duties and inspecting buildings for various functionalities.

Responsibilities

• Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations using a pre?established check sheet.


• Inspects the grounds and parking areas to be free of leaves and debris; and handles any minor clean-up and/or repairs needed.


• Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.


• Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).


• Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Skills

• Some knowledge of tools used in groundskeeping, facility maintenance and construction, including concrete, asphalt drainage or row maintenance.


• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
