Job summary

Goodwill Industries of North Florida seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician I to perform skilled duties across painting, carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing, drywall, and HVAC systems in our Jacksonville facilities. You will maintain, repair, and remodel owned and leased buildings to ensure safe, functional spaces.

The role requires High School or GED, 2+ years in maintenance, and a Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Two or more years prior maintenance experience required, with 1 to 2 years’ experience in commercial maintenance preferred.
• Electrical, plumbing or HVAC certification is preferred but not necessary.
• Florida driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot all structural components related to building and grounds systems.

Job Summary :

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I (MT1) performs a variety of skilled duties in one or more building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing, drywall or other recognized crafts for purposes of maintaining, repairing or remodeling all owned and leased buildings and facilities to include HVAC and other mechanical systems.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education

High School or GED

Experience

Two or more years prior maintenance experience required, with 1 to 2 years’ experience in commercial maintenance preferred.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration

Electrical, plumbing or HVAC certification is preferred but not necessary.

Florida driver’s license required.

Other

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills that allow the incumbent to work effectively with co-workers and vendors.
• Skilled in the operation of a variety of hand tools and equipment common to the building trades and/or HVAC filtration systems, etc.

• Must be able to remain calm during stressful situations.
