Job summary

Schwan's Company is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and complex repairs on conveyor systems and packaging machinery in a US-based food manufacturing environment. This full-time role offers growth opportunities and a competitive benefits package.

You will document activities in SAP, collaborate with production teams, and support equipment setup and installation while adhering to safety and quality standards. Excellent mechanical capability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred.
• 3+ years of related maintenance experience.
• Ability to work varying shifts including overtime and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform mechanical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot conveyor systems and food production machinery.
• Perform mechanical repairs including shaft keying, broaching, gear head replacement, welding, hose fabrication, and belt maintenance.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using observation, measurements, and root-cause analysis.
• Use SAP to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and coordinate with production and operations teams.

Starting Pay: $31.00 per hour Additional $1.50 shift differential from 6 p.m. — 6 a.m. Shift:1

What You Will Do:

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.

• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.

• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.

• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.

• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate effectively with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.

• 3+ years of related experience.

• Work different ranges of hours such as full-time, overtime, or weekend shifts.

• Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and building skills.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
