Job summary

The Swan Food Company is seeking a dedicated maintenance technician in a full-time role, based in Kentucky. You will perform preventive maintenance and complex repairs on conveyor systems and production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot conveyor systems and food production machinery.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs such as shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, welding, and hydraulic hose fabrication.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, and installation of plant machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using observation, auditory checks, and precision tools; identify root causes.
• Document maintenance activities in SAP and coordinate with production teams to optimize workflow.

Starting Pay: $31.00 per hour

Additional $1.50 shift differential from 6 p.m. -- 6 a.m.

What You Will Do:

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.
• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate effectively with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Work different ranges of hours such as full-time, overtime, or weekend shifts.
• Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and building skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
