Job summary

Holiday Inn & Suites Virginia Beach – North Beach, operated by Harrison Group, seeks a Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, efficient operation of hotel facilities and systems across guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces.

The role includes responding to maintenance requests, performing preventative maintenance, conducting inspections, and coordinating with front office and housekeeping to preserve guest comfort and property standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred.
• 2–5 years of building maintenance, facilities management, or related engineering field experience, hospitality preferred.
• Experience with hotel or hospitality maintenance operations.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and building systems operations.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, staff, and management.
• Maintain mechanical rooms and equipment areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Perform daily inspections of public areas and facilities.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, and administrative offices.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs for hotel equipment and facilities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and PM tasks.
• Ensure maintenance projects are completed efficiently and in accordance with company standards.
• Collaborate with front office and housekeeping teams to address maintenance issues that impact guest experience.
• Complete required reports, work orders, and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Assist with renovation, remodeling, and construction projects as needed.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and applicable building codes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
