Job summary

AdventHealth Zephyrhills in Florida is seeking a full-time maintenance technician. You will perform building repairs, preventive maintenance, and daily facility support to keep systems running efficiently.

Responsibilities include selecting tools, using work order software, and coordinating with staff. Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety procedures is required. A high school diploma or 5+ years in maintenance is needed, and a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or 5+ years maintenance experience.
• 3+ years general maintenance experience.
• Driver's License required.
• Florida Level 2 background screening may apply.

• Performing building repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Complies with healthcare, federal, state, and local regulations.

• Ensures materials are readily available.
• Completes work orders in a timely manner and per protocol.
• Uses computer-based work order software as required.
• Visits assigned areas daily to solicit feedback from staff.
• Conducts safety walkthroughs and corrects issues.

Job Description:

• Other duties as assigned.
• Complies with healthcare, federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
• Performs building repairs.
• Identifies proper tools for tasks and consults with appropriate personnel, as needed.
• Ensures materials are readily available.
• Completes preventive maintenance tasks and work orders in a timely manner and according to protocol.
• Utilizes and completes computer-based work order software with demonstrated knowledge.
• Visits assigned areas daily to solicit customer feedback.
• Conducts walkthroughs in assigned areas to observe and correct repairs.
• Uses proper safety procedures, including lockout/tag out personal protective equipment per policy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of building systems, i.e., chillers, boilers, building automation, HVAC, fire alarm, etc. [Required]
• Able to communicate in English. [Required]
• Basic computer skills required. [Required]
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents. [Required]
• General knowledge of one of the following maintenance areas: Air conditioning, Plumbing, Electrical, fire alarm system, tube system, telephones, paging system, and the power plant systems. [Required]
• Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing within the Healthcare field [Preferred]
• Knowledge of safe handling and maintenance of tools and equipment [Preferred]
• Basic Microsoft Office computer skills [Preferred]

Education:

• High School/Equivalent grad OR 5+ years experience [Required]

Work Experience:

• 3+ general maintenance experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Driver's License (DL) [Required]
