Job summary

Loews Nashville Hotel is seeking a skilled Engineer I to maintain electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry systems across the property. In this hands-on role you’ll respond to maintenance requests, support emergency procedures, and help keep guest spaces safe and inviting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of journey-level maintenance in hospitality, post-high school training or certifications in trades, and a strong problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on maintenance or skilled-trades experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Post-high school training or equivalent education in a maintenance or engineering discipline.
• HVAC, plumbing or electrical certifications preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and repair manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled trade work in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other maintenance disciplines.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, guest concerns, and emergency situations.
• Monitor and maintain hotel systems and equipment for safety and performance.
• Conduct routine inspections and document maintenance activities.
• Assist in dispatching and supporting team operations as needed.
• Adhere to safety standards and environmental requirements.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving problems, and take pride in delivering quality work, this is the opportunity for you.Who You Are:Technical Expert: You have a strong mechanical background and proficiency in multiple trades.Problem Solver: You diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions with confidence.Collaborative Leader: You work well with others and can mentor team members to enhance performance.Detail-Oriented Professional: You prioritize safety, accuracy, and efficiency in every task.Adaptable and Reliable: You embrace flexibility and maintain professionalism in a dynamic environment.Veterans and military spouses encouraged to apply.What You'll Do:Perform skilled trade work in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other maintenance disciplines.Respond promptly to maintenance requests, guest concerns, and emergency situations.Monitor and maintain hotel systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential maintenance issues.Operate tools, equipment, and hazardous materials safely, following all MSDS guidelines.Complete required documentation and maintenance records for all work performed.Assist in dispatching and supporting team operations as needed.Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job status and maintenance concerns.Execute emergency response procedures in accordance with hotel standards.Support the setup and execution of special events and functions as required.Maintain clean, organized, and well-kept work areas and equipment.Adhere to hotel policies, safety standards, and environmental compliance requirements.Promote teamwork, safety, and hospitality in all interactions with guests and colleagues.Regular attendance in conformance with standards.May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.Perform other duties as assigned.Your Experience Includes:Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in maintenance or skilled trades with journey-level responsibilities in a hospitality or hotel maintenance environment, preferred.Post-high school training or equivalent education in a maintenance or engineering-related discipline, preferred.Certification or additional formal training related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or other trades, preferred.Proven background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or related trades.Proficiency in operating and maintaining trade-related tools, equipment, and systems.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical and operational issues.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset.Familiarity with safety standards, MSDS compliance, and hazardous materials handling.
