Job summary

Velociti is seeking an experienced Engineer to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial real estate systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and related equipment. The role focuses on ensuring optimal building operations for clients, staff, and occupants.

Responsibilities include inspections, diagnostics, coordinating with vendors, and leading efficiency projects. The candidate should have EPA certification, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations maintenance or building engineering.
• EPA Certification is required.
• High school diploma or vocational/trade school.
• Experience with HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive optimization of facility for clients, customers, and staff in safe condition; perform preventive and reactive maintenance; resolve safety concerns.
• Inspect and conduct preventive tests to ensure proper operation of equipment and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair or replace failed equipment and components.
• Coordinate with vendors/third parties for complex repairs and warranty services.
• Perform locksmith tasks and manage key security.
• Lead special projects to improve building operations and efficiencies.
• HVAC troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
• Electrical work: re-lamping, ballast replacement, breaker resets
• Plumbing repairs, drain maintenance, restroom upkeep
• Inspect and maintain café/kitchen equipment
• Maintain elevators, fire life safety devices, and UPSs
• Repair/adjust access doors and overhead doors as required
• Obtain estimates for outside vendor work
• Handle customer complaints professionally and timely
• Other duties as assigned

Hours: 6:30am to 3pm Monday- Friday

An Engineer at Velociti Servicves performs preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial real estate building machinery and large building systems such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, HVAC, Chilled Water Systems, Air Handlers, Boilers, Air Handler Units, and other building systems in order to ensure optimal conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Drive optimization of facility for clients, customers, and staff in a safe operating condition; conduct preventative and reactive maintenance; and resolve immediate operational and building safety concerns.
• Regularly inspect and conduct preventive tests to ensure proper working condition of all the building's equipment and overall operational infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair or replace failed equipment and/or non-functioning components, belts, filters, etc.
• Coordinate efforts with vendors and/or third parties for the most complex repairs or for services under warranty and inspect completed repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Conduct various locksmith tasks and/or the management of key security.
• Participate in and/or may lead special projects related to the improvement of building operations and efficiencies.
• HVAC troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
• Electrical work including re-lamping, ballast replacement and breaker reset
• Plumbing fixture repairs, drain maintenance, and restroom preventative maintenance
• Perform Inspection and Maintenance of café/kitchen equipment
• Manage and support maintenance of elevators, fire life safety devices, and UPSs
• Access Door and Overhead Door repair/adjustment, as required
• Obtain and compare estimates for work to be performed by outside vendors
• Ensure that all customer complaints are handled professionally, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations maintenance or similar building engineering roles.
• EPA Certification
• High school diploma or vocational or trade school
• Experience working on HVAC systems.
• Strong knowledge of work order control procedures.
• Ability to work at heights using ladders or similar tools.
• Basic computer proficiency (Word, Outlook, Smartphone)
• Must possess valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines
• Work independently and as part of a team, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and/ or carry minimum 50 pounds
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl daily
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
• Must participate in On-Call rotation schedule as assigned
