JOB OVERVIEW

As an Engineer 1, you'll be responsible for performing general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained. Some categories of maintenance jobs may include but are not limited to any of the following:

  • General Building Maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, painting, basic electrical and HVAC
  • Kitchen Equipment Maintenance
  • Lawn Equipment Maintenance (4 cycle and 2 cycle engines)
  • Locksmith Maintenance
  • Preventative Maintenance on boilers, ice machines, hotel vehicles, and other equipment
  • And many other maintenance job functions of the hotel industry
WORK REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
  • Communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
  • Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio).
  • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Record information for unfinished calls prior to shift change.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions, receive job assignments and communicate progress and/or completion of assignment, and basic guest requests
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Must be able to safely use a step ladder and properly go up and down the steps of the ladder
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand, walk and move around during entire shift
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
  • Ability to show up on-time for their shift and work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 75 pounds without assistance. Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
