La Quinta by Wyndham Vancouver, WA is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to perform daily repairs, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of both exterior and interior hotel facilities.

The role requires basic construction/maintenance skills, experience in HVAC, plumbing, and general upkeep, with a focus on guest satisfaction and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1–2 years related experience preferred.
• Hospitality experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable in basic repair and maintenance skills including plumbing, carpentry, grouting, painting, caulking, troubleshooting, and blueprint reading.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the entire hotel facility: building structure, grounds, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical/electrical systems and equipment, plus FF&E, grounds, pool, etc.
• Monitor life safety systems and utilities to comply with codes and franchise standards.
• Respond promptly to guest requests in a friendly, effective manner.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on guest room/suite furniture, fixtures and equipment.
• Inspect plumbing regularly.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining the entire hotel facility including physical building structure, grounds, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and related equipment
• Preventative maintenance and repair of the hotel's mechanical/electrical systems and equipment, and for the general maintenance and upkeep of the facility, FF&E, grounds, swimming pool, etc.
• Monitor life safety systems and utilities and administer the department on compliance with all corporate/franchise standards and local, state and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and associates.
• Responds promptly and follows through on guest requests in a friendly and effective manner
• Conducts preventative maintenance on all guest room/suite furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Inspects plumbing regularly
• Complies with hotel safety prevention rules and techniques, including fire safety
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; or one to two years of related experience and/or training
• Hospitality experience preferred
• Knowledgeable of basic repair and maintenance skills including plumbing, carpentry skills, grouting, painting, caulking, troubleshooting, and blueprint reading.
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Basic Math skills
• Basic computer skills
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
