Job summary

Healthcare Realty Trust is seeking an experienced full-time on-site Maintenance Engineer for medical office buildings in Summerville, Mount Pleasant and North Charleston, SC. Licensure or trade certification is a plus, with competitive pay and benefits such as health, dental, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in facilities maintenance with understanding of Building Automation Systems, electrical systems, controls, boilers, HVAC, life safety systems.
• Performs repairs and building upkeep; handles emergency and preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
• Reads and uses blueprints; basic MS Office skills; uses PC and smartphone for work orders and email.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned repairs and routine maintenance on building systems.
• Complete maintenance and repair records and work orders promptly.
• Read blueprints and coordinate with team to ensure life safety compliance.
• Travel up to 30 miles within Charleston and Berkeley County for on-site buildings.
• Maintain a positive, self-sufficient, and team-oriented work approach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Minimum of Five (5) years' experience in facilities maintenance with thorough understanding of Building Automation Systems, electrical systems, controls, condensing boilers, package rooftop HVAC, variable air volume systems, chemical treatment, emergency generation equipment, plumbing, transfer switches and life safety systems.
• Performs assigned repairs; building upkeep duties as needed (periodic pressure washing and leaf blowing as needed); emergency and preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
• Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
• Completes assigned work orders in a timely manner.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office. Uses personal computer and smart phone for work order system and email.
• Position requires excellent organization, verbal, written and multi-tasking skills.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Takes ownership of work, is flexible, and focuses on creating a positive and welcoming impression.
• Must be self-sufficient, team player.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders.
• On-call approximately every three weeks, travel to buildings within 30 miles in Charleston and Berkeley County area.
