Job summary

Healthcare Realty Trust is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for medical office buildings in Summerville, Mount Pleasant and North Charleston, South Carolina. This full-time, on-site role requires at least five years in facilities maintenance and knowledge of building automation and life-safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned repairs; building upkeep duties as needed (pressure washing, leaf blowing).
• Emergency and preventive maintenance in a timely manner; completes maintenance and repair records and work orders.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office; uses PC and smartphone for work order system and email.
• Reads blueprints; maintains organization and multi-tasking; communicates clearly.
• On-call approximately every three weeks; travel to buildings within 30 miles of Charleston and Berkeley County area.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Minimum of Five (5) years' experience in facilities maintenance with thorough understanding of Building Automation Systems, electrical systems, controls, condensing boilers, package rooftop HVAC, variable air volume systems, chemical treatment, emergency generation equipment, plumbing, transfer switches and life safety systems.
• Performs assigned repairs; building upkeep duties as needed (periodic pressure washing and leaf blowing as needed); emergency and preventive maintenance in a timely manner. Completes maintenance and repair records as required. Completes assigned work orders in a timely manner.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office. Uses personal computer and smart phone for work order system and email.
• Position requires excellent organization, verbal, written and multi-tasking skills. Must be able to read blueprints.
• Takes ownership of work, is flexible, and focuses on creating a positive and welcoming impression.
• Must be self-sufficient, team player.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders.
• On-call approximately every three weeks, travel to buildings within 30 miles in Charleston and Berkeley County area.
