Job summary

Healthcare Realty Trust is seeking an experienced on-site Maintenance Engineer for four medical office buildings in Sarasota and St. Pete, FL. Licensure or trade certification is a plus; strong knowledge of Building Automation Systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems is required.

The role emphasizes reliability, documentation, and teamwork to support medical facilities. Minimum five years in facilities maintenance is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in facilities maintenance with thorough understanding of Building Automation Systems, electrical systems, controls, condensing boilers, package rooftop HVAC, variable air volume systems, chemical treatment, emergency generation equipment, plumbing, transfer switches and life safety systems.
• Must be able to read blueprints and maintain accurate work records; able to operate a PC and smartphone for work orders and email.
• Licensure or trade certification is a plus; strong organization and multi-tasking skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and building upkeep duties; complete maintenance and repair records and work orders in a timely manner.
• Respond to maintenance needs for four medical office buildings; prioritize safety and reliability of systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and manage preventive maintenance tasks.
• Maintain familiarity with building automation, electrical, plumbing and life safety systems.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Minimum of Five (5) years' experience in facilities maintenance with thorough understanding of Building Automation Systems, electrical systems, controls, condensing boilers, package rooftop HVAC, variable air volume systems, chemical treatment, emergency generation equipment, plumbing, transfer switches and life safety systems.
• Performs assigned repairs; building upkeep duties as needed (periodic pressure washing and leaf blowing as needed); emergency and preventive maintenance in a timely manner. Completes maintenance and repair records as required. Completes assigned work orders in a timely manner.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office. Uses personal computer and smart phone for work order system and email.
• Position requires excellent organization, verbal, written and multi-tasking skills. Must be able to read blueprints.
• Takes ownership of work, is flexible, and focuses on creating a positive and welcoming impression.
• Must be self-sufficient, team player. Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders.
