Job summary

HealthPartners is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to operate, repair, and maintain the hospital's physical plant and equipment, ensuring a safe, cost-effective environment that supports patient care.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting; licensing pathways are provided, with training to obtain HVAC/building licenses within 18 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Must have any one of the following licenses at hire: Chief A, Chief B, 1st Class A, 1st Class B, 2nd Class A, 2nd Class B.
• If above licensure(s) not present at hire: Chief C upon hire, 1st Class C upon hire, 2nd Class C upon hire, Special Engineers license.
• Must obtain completion within 18 months of hire date, including 2nd Class B license.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet Automobile Liability Guidelines.
• Basic computer and email skills.
• Good customer service, troubleshooting, and mechanical aptitude skills; able to change or reprioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

The Maintenance Engineer operates, repairs, and maintains the physical plant as well as other hospital equipment/systems in a safe cost effective and industry accepted manner. Also, this position ensures a safe and reliable environment in which to provide medical services.

Work Schedule:

1.0 FTE; Monday-Friday 1:30pm-10:00pm; On-call Mon-Fri 10pm-6am every 4th week

Required Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent

Additional Requirements

• Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of employee residence and meet all criteria required under Lakeview’s Automobile Liability Guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school training in plant operations/building maintenance and/or HVAC
• 1-year experience in the operation of H.V.A.C., refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems, preferably in a health care setting
