Description

The Maintenance Engineer position is responsible for providing technical and maintenance services throughout the hotel to keep the hotel’s general equipment and systems in excellent condition.

  • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Comply at all times with Peachtree Hospitality Management Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maintain regular attendance standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of all department policies and procedures, and communicate and enforce all policies fairly and consistently with staff.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building stays in good condition.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and uphold quality standards.
  • Assist in checking electrical systems like air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and perform minor repairs or replacements.
  • Assist in routine repairs and major repairs of hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen and laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, plumbing, and fixtures.
  • Service the hotel's pool, including chemical adjustments and filter cleaning; complete maintenance request forms and logs.
  • Maintain the building exterior and curb appeal (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, trash removal, gardening).
  • Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms, such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters. Paint and finish furniture as needed.
  • Respond courteously to guest questions, complaints, and requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Operate heavy machinery safely.
  • Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools, reassemble equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions, using blueprints, manuals, and catalogs.
  • Assemble, install, and repair wiring, electrical components, plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
  • Complete maintenance work orders promptly to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with other departments regarding guest room conditions.
  • Keep work areas and storage clean and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Attend training and meetings as required.
