Are you an auto mechanic, dealership service manager, service technician, recent graduate with auto mechanics education, or someone passionate about all things automotive? The Mechanical Claims Specialist (MCS) role at Ally is ideal for those who love working with cars but prefer to avoid manual labor and retail hours. The MCS collaborates with selling dealers, repair facilities, retail customers, and financial institutions to provide support, leveraging mechanical expertise to assist with policy and technical claim support on vehicle service contracts and other insurance programs such as GAP and Tire & Wheel.
The Work Itself
- Use your French language skills to assist our French-speaking customers across North America.
- Utilize your automotive technical knowledge to help dealers and repair facilities file claims through systematic listening and probing.
- Respond to inbound calls and written inquiries from customers, dealers, repair facilities, and financial institutions regarding policy administration and claims.
- Aim for total customer satisfaction in handling contracts and claims.
- Research existing case information via manuals, databases, or contacts.
The Skills You Bring
- Fluent in French.
- Ability to pass a mechanical skills test.
- At least 2 years of experience in the automotive repair industry; suitable candidates include auto mechanics, dealership service or parts personnel, service technicians, auto retail employees, or recent graduates with automotive technical degrees or certifications.
- Strong mechanical background with effective communication skills for engaging with repair facilities and providing excellent customer service.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to negotiate and make quick decisions while managing conflicting priorities.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with technical platforms; must pass a virtual mechanical test during the interview.
- High school diploma or GED required.
