Job summary

CapstoneONE Search is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a Fortune 500 aerospace/defense manufacturer in New Hartford, CT. The role owns CAPEX planning, drives OEE gains, and leads a maintenance team across facility systems and plant equipment.

You will manage preventive/predictive maintenance programs, oversee CMMS, and coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to meet production goals. On-site, with a strong emphasis on reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance, reliability, or plant engineering experience.
• Proven CAPEX project planning, budgeting, and execution.
• Experience improving OEE and equipment reliability.
• Strong PM/PdM, CMMS, and root cause analysis knowledge.
• Experience with PLC-controlled and automated equipment preferred.
• U.S. person status under ITAR may be required.

Responsibilities

• Owns CAPEX planning, justification, budgeting, and execution for equipment, utilities, and facility projects.
• Drives OEE improvement by reducing downtime, speeding changeovers, and eliminating losses.
• Leads reliability strategy including preventive/predictive maintenance and root cause failure analysis.
• Manages installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment and plant rearrangements.
• Develops and tracks maintenance KPIs (OEE, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance).
• Oversees CMMS use, asset management, spare parts strategy, and scheduling.
• Directs outside contractors and service providers and partners with Operations/Engineering.
• Supports EHS compliance and safety programs.
• Provides day-to-day oversight of the maintenance team.

We are representing a globally recognized Fortune 500 aerospace/defense manufacturing organization actively seeking a Maintenance Engineer to own equipment reliability, facility performance, and capital investment at a growing manufacturing site. This role is highly technical and project-driven, with a strong emphasis on CAPEX, OEE, and reliability.

Position Overview

• Owns CAPEX planning, justification, budgeting, and execution for equipment, utilities, and facility projects
• Drives OEE improvement by reducing unplanned downtime, speeding changeovers, and eliminating chronic equipment losses
• Leads reliability strategy, including preventive/predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and root cause failure analysis
• Manages installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment and plant rearrangements
• Develops and tracks maintenance KPIs (OEE, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, downtime, maintenance spend)
• Oversees CMMS use, asset management, spare parts strategy, and maintenance planning/scheduling
• Manages facility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, utilities, and building infrastructure
• Directs outside contractors and service providers, including scopes, quotes, and project execution
• Partners with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to prioritize equipment improvements and support production goals
• Supports EHS compliance, including lockout/tagout, safety programs, and facility inspections
• Provides day-to-day oversight of the maintenance team

Position Requirements

• Degree preferred but not required
• 5+ years of maintenance, reliability, or plant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated success managing CAPEX projects and improving OEE and equipment reliability
• Strong knowledge of PM/PdM programs, CMMS platforms, and root cause analysis
• Experience with PLC-controlled and automated equipment preferred
• May require U.S. person status under ITAR
