Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform general and preventative maintenance on equipment including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems.
  • Repair and program hotel electronic lock systems and fixtures.
  • Inspect interior and exterior of property; document readings and issues.
  • Read blueprints and wiring diagrams; understand utility shut-offs for maintenance or emergencies.
  • Maintain maintenance records and report parts and supplies needed to management.
  • Follow safety policies; use PPE and ensure safe work environment.
  • Maintain guest areas clean and professional; respond to guest concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with team to meet goals and communicate effectively.

Work days – Tuesday through Saturday

Work hours – 12:00 Noon to 8:30 P.M.

Education - High School diploma or GED

Experience in hotel or other maintenance a plus

Certified Pool Operator a plus

Position Summary:

The Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the hotel property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to guests and team members. Demonstrate basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in building HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, minor carpentry, drywall repairs, painting, light bulb replacement, ballast replacement, TV programming, electronic door locks.

Essential functions:

Perform general and preventative maintenance tasks on all equipment in a timely manner. including HVAC, Kitchen and Laundry Equipment, Ice Machines, Plumbing Systems, Boilers and Pumps including cleaning, lubrication, repair and replacement. Change light bulbs, vinyl repairs, painting, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, repair sheet rock, wall coverings and tile in guest rooms, common areas as well as the pool and exercise room.
  2. 2. Test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas.
  3. 3. Repair and program hotel electronic lock system.
  4. 4. Make multiple daily visual inspections of interior and exterior of the property and equipment, take required readings and document accordingly. Remove debris and trash.
  5. 5. Understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams and have knowledge of utility shut offs to the building in the event of maintenance or emergency.
  6. 6. Maintain repair and preventative maintenance records. Report any needed parts, materials or supplies to management that need to be ordered in a timely manner.
  7. 7. Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report, remove and correct any maintenance problems, safety hazards, to prevent accidents and injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials. Wear/utilize all Personal Protective equipment. Read and understand chemical warning labels and make a safe working environment a priority. Perform and maintain work to local, state and Federal codes.
  8. 8. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address the guests’ service needs. Follow proper procedures for entry into guest rooms.
  9. 9. Handle all guest concerns/complaints in a timely manner, maintaining a positive impression with the guest on resolving any concerns/complaints. Follow-up to ensure complaints or problems are resolved and action is taken to avoid recurrence.
  10. 10. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Operate radios efficiently and professionally in communicating with hotel staff.
  11. 11. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
  12. 12. Perform other job duties as assigned.
QualificationsQualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED. Two years hotel/resort experience or trade school or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the above skills, knowledge and ability.

Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel/resort or a related maintenance industry preferred.

Physical requirements – heavy work at times – Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance. Be able to move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Knowledge of computers is helpful.

Possess a good command of the English language to communicate with guests and fellow team members using clear and professional language.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming. Wear name tag when working.
