Job summary

Lightera in Norcross, GA, is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate complex electrical systems and automated equipment. You will work with engineers on prototype systems and ensure safety practices and documentation are followed.

The role requires two years of trades schooling and at least two years of hands-on trade experience, with ability to read electrical diagrams and operate computer tools for parts lookup and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Two years of an accredited trades school with completion certification or equivalent practical experience.
• Must be able to work any shift or work schedule.
• Employees are expected to follow safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Pass required physical as specified in federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan work assignments and perform duties with a minimum of direct supervision.
• Train and direct efforts of plant trades Helpers, Junior Trades Workers and Trades Workers assigned to assist in the performance of the work
• Collaborate with functional personnel in own and other organizations to resolve problems and recommend solutions based on trades knowledge
• Qualified to the Emergency Response Technician Level as specified in federal regulations meeting state and federal guidelines 29 CFR 1910.120 Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
• Pass required physical as specified in federal and state regulations.
• Wearing protective equipment and properly storing all personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively engaging as a safety conscious worker with personal safety and wellness as a priority.
