Alliant Energy in the United States is seeking a skilled electrical technician to perform varied electrical, basic mechanical and control system maintenance at a generation facility and high voltage substation. You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and inspect equipment, read blueprints and diagrams, document activities and support safety, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Journeylevel in the electrical trade with State Approved Apprenticeship completion.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
  • Experience with mechanical and instrument controls.
  • Familiarity with steam plant cycles and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, clean, inspect and construct equipment and systems at the generation facility.
  • Maintain electrical equipment at a generator station and high voltage substation.
  • Maintain plant control systems and calibration/testing of equipment.
  • Document processes and log data from devices.
  • Support safety, reliability, productivity, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform housekeeping and other duties as required.
