Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to troubleshoot and maintain electrical equipment across cranes, conveyors, and coating machines in Toledo, OH. The role requires strong PLC skills and a background in industrial maintenance, including arc flash experience.

You will read blueprints, work with engineers and operations during breakdowns, and could participate in forklift maintenance and machine relocation projects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain 480V 3 Phase on cranes, slitters, coating machines and conveyors.
• Handle pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, conveyors, pumps, gears, gearboxes, bearings, and cylinders.
• Inspect and document condition of electrical equipment including cranes, motors, generators, panels, switches, and panels.
• Use test equipment, drawings, blueprints, and schematics to install or diagnose equipment.
• Possess Arc Flash experience.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and QC during emergencies to restore operations.
• Perform forklift maintenance: wheels, greasing, forks.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Assist in machine installation or relocation within the plant.

Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining electrical equipment, circuit boards, DC Motors, and drive packages. You will be working with industrial cranes, steel slitters, coating machines, and conveyor lines to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain 480V 3 Phase on industrial cranes, steel slitters, coating machines, and conveyor lines.
• Handle all secondary equipment such as pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, conveyors, pumps, gears, gearboxes, bearings, and cylinders.
• Regularly inspect and document the condition of electrical equipment including cranes, motors, generators, control panels, switches, and circuit panels.
• Use electrical test equipment, drawings, blueprints, and schematics to install new equipment or diagnose issues with inoperative equipment.
• Possess Arc Flash Experience.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality control teams during emergency breakdowns to restore operations.
• Perform maintenance on forklifts, including changing wheels, greasing parts, and adjusting forks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Assist in machine installation or relocation within the plant.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 4-5 years of industrial maintenance experience.

• Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting secondary equipment such as pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, conveyors, pumps, gears, gearboxes, bearings, and cylinders.
• Comfortable working at heights up to 25ft, including on overhead cranes.
• Must provide own tools; specialty tools will be provided.

Work Environment

The position offers a competitive pay rate with shift premiums for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Expect a full-time schedule with potential for overtime, working 5 to 6 days a week and over 60 hours weekly. Overtime is compensated at 1.5x after 8 hours daily and all day on Saturdays, with double time after 12 hours daily or on the 7th day of work. The pay range for this position is $78666.00 - $78666.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

• Quarterly. $200-$300 basically a few hundred right now but trending up. In 2018 was $12,000 (so $3,000 every 3 months). Based on what profit is. Eligible right away so depending on the day he starts would get something for Q2, it is pro rated based on the day he starts.
• Holidays – 10 paid holidays a year. Have to get probationary before eligible (90 days). Would miss Memorial and 4th of July.o Vacation – Based on hours worked would get 2 weeks of vacation 1st of January in 2025. 1,480 hours in a year that next year he will get 2 weeks of vacation January 1st. Can request time off if have things already planned would just be unpaid for now. 3 weeks = 5yrs mark on anniversary date. 4 weeks = 10yrs.
• Union contract through Sept. 2026. 2% increase in pay each year for next two years.
• Tuition Reimbursement – no program in place now. But open to discussion once he nails down what he’s looking for.

• Pay:o Current: $36.90/hr.o 2nd Shift: $36.90/hr. + $0.55 (Any hours worked between 3:00pm – 11:00pm)o 3rd Shift: $36.90/hr. + $0.70 (Any hours worked between 11:00pm – 7:00am)
• Vacation:o 2024: NO PTO. He could ask for an unpaid week off… but he won’t have ANY paid time off. He will have to work 1450 hours during 2024 (easily done) and he will get the full two-weeks next year in 2025.o 2025: 2 weeks PTOo 2026: 2 Weeks PTOo 2027: 2 Weeks PTOo 2028: 2 Weeks PTOo 2029: On your 5-year Anniversary you are awarded an additional week before the year end.
