Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Electrical Engineer to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of electrical systems and equipment at their facility in Welkom . This role is critical for minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity through proactive maintenance, swift troubleshooting, and efficient repair of electrical infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing spare parts inventory, and ensuring all electrical work complies with stringent safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, possesses strong diagnostic skills, and is committed to maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new electrical machinery and upgrades.
• Manage electrical maintenance projects, including budget, resource, and timeline coordination.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies regarding electrical work.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory of electrical components.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.

• In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems , motor controls, PLCs, and VSDs.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is essential.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a plant environment located in Welkom .
